Witt Men’s Lacrosse Falls 10-6 to Wabash in NCAC Matchup
CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN – Wittenberg Men's Lacrosse started out strong but fell on the road to Wabash, 10-6, Wednesday, April 9, in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) game at the Little Giants' Fischer Field.
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first period, but Wabash struck for five goals in the second to take a 6-3 lead. Witt outscored the Little Giants in the third, 2-1, to get within striking distance heading into the final 15 minutes. But Wabash answered by finding the back of the goal three more times in the fourth to pull away for the victory.
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the NCAC. Wabash, which broke a three-game losing streak, improves to 7-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Ty Harris (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore) was the Tigers' leading scorer with three goals on the day. He had three shots, three on goal, and two ground balls.
Team Leaders
- Nathan Brown (Dublin, OH / Coffman), Dillon McKeigue (Olmstead Township, OH / St. Edward), and Blake Roller (New Albany, OH / St. Charles) scored Wittenberg's other goals.
- Brown and McKeigue along with Ethan Amidon (Rochester, NY / Brighton) each had an assist.
- Quentin Rudolph (Grand Rapids, MI / Forest Hills Central) and Charlie Boucuvalas (Oakwood, OH / Oakwood ) each had three ground balls to lead the team. They each also had two caused turnovers.
- Griffin Howell (Whitestown, IN / Zionsville Community) had five saves in the goal.
