Wittenberg Posts Strong Showing at Ohio Bowling Conference Opener
Columbus, OH- Wittenberg's women's bowling team tallied a 13th-place finish at the first Ohio Bowling Conference event of the 2024-25 season, hosted at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace. The event was the Tigers' first of the season and included quality competition from across the state as numerous small and large schools participated.
Freshman Ryleigh Rasey (Richwood, OH/North Union) led the way for the Tigers as she recorded the highest individual0 finish, placing 25th overall with a score of 665. Sophomore Chloe Steiner (Troy, OH/Sidney Lehman Catholic) was next for Wittenberg, as she earned a 51st place finish with a total of 584.
Bridget Capper (Springfield, OH/Springfield), Grace Tyler (Christiansburg, OH/St. Paris Graham), and Sydney Wilson (Springfield, OH/Shawnee) rounded out top-100 finishers for Wittenberg. Capper scored 572 and placed 56th, Tyler scored 420 to earning a 91st place finish, and Wilson came in right behind, finishing 92nd with 419.
Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH/Mechanicsburg) capped off the performances for the Tigers, as she placed 117th with 257.
Head Coach Tony Cooper was pleased with the team's performance. "For our first tournament and being very young, I thought we did a great job as a team," he said. "The ladies worked together and were able to keep a light, relaxed atmosphere. It was a good tournament to build for the future."
Wittenberg returns to action on Saturday, October 19, as the Tigers travel back to Columbus to compete at the second event of the 2024-25 Ohio Bowling Conference.
