Taylor Weiss Places 19th In High Jump At NCAA Indoor Championships
ROCHESTER, NY - Senior Taylor Weiss (Powell, Ohio / Olentangy Liberty) finished 19th in the high jump on Day 2 of the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at Nazareth University's Golisano Training Center in Rochester, NY.
Weiss was competing in the NCAA Indoor Championships for a second consecutive year after finishing the regular season as one of five athletes tied for 16th on the national performance list in the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters. Weiss was among 20 athletes entered in the event.
The opening height in the event was 1.60 meters, and Weiss cleared it on her third attempt. With the bar raised to 1.65 meters, Weiss was unable to successfully achieve the mark on any of her three attempts. Allie Wildsmith of Coast Guard, who came in with the top mark in the country, won the event with a mark of 1.77 meters.
"Not exactly how I wanted to do today, but I'm looking forward to getting back to the team and seeing what the outdoor season brings," Weiss said. "I'm proud to be able to represent Wittenberg at this level!"
A year ago, Weiss qualified for the national meet with a mark of 1.69 meters, and she finished 15th in the NCAA meet after clearing the bar set at 1.63 meters on her second attempt. Her performance earned Weiss second-team All-America honors.
"Extremely proud of these two young ladies," said Head Coach Paris Hilliard. "They have put in a lot of hard work on and off the track to get to this stage. They both have had a great over season and I'm excited to see what they accomplish this outdoor season!"
